Romania elected as member of the Commission on Human Rights - May 4, 2004

On 4th May 2004, at its resumed organizational session, the Social and Economic Council elected Romania as a member of the Commission on Human Rights, for the mandate 2005-2007. It is for the fourth time Romania accedes to this prestigious body. Previously, Romania was a member of the Commission of Human rights in 1972-1974, 1993-1995 and 1999-2001.
