On December 16, 2002, under the aegis of the "Year 2002 - Dialogue
among civilisations", the Permanent Mission of Romania and 
United
Nations Office in Geneva hosted, at the Palais des Nations, a Romanian
cultural evening, under the high auspices of Mr. Sergei Ordzhonikidze,
the General Director of the Geneva UN Office and in the presence of
H.E. Mr. Razvan Theodorescu, the Minister of Culture and Religious
Affairs.
H.E. Ambassador Anda Filip, the Permanent Representative of Romania
to the UN Geneva, inaugurated the Romanian Cultural Evening with a
brief introductory presentation. H.E. Mr. Razvan Theodorescu, then held
a conference on the topic :"The Romanian Culture in European Context".
The evening continued with a series of events, namely a chamber music
concert offered by a group of young Romanian musicians - Trio Althair
Group and the vernisage of a painting exhibition: "Georges Dumitresco
and his Universe".
This unique Romanian evening was shared with a numerous audience,
some 400 guests, a part of the Romanian spirituality, embraced by the
joyfulness of the coming winter Holidays, in a very warm atmosphere.
